Welcome
My name is Brooke and I am the owner of Lapham's Little Liberties, a licensed Colorado Shines Level 2 family care provider located in Berthoud, Colorado. I have four pretty amazing little humans who call me mama, three school age and a toddler.
The creation of My Care
My husband Michael and I worked for our local sheriff’s office and always struggled with finding safe and reliable care for our children a couple years ago. Providers around us were always either very disappointing with their consistency or just would not fit for our family’s work schedule. It was then when I found the need for a care provider which just didn’t exist yet. A provider who could not only be with my children for more than the 9-5pm shift but one who would understand our family’s lifestyle as first responders.
I decided it would become my mission to help other first responders and shift workers alike and far in between to obtain safe reliable care for their most precious ones. You will not find another care home for your children like mine that provides flexible scheduling to include late pick-up and early drop offs, emergency drop-ins, etc while keeping safety, low ratios, and a home-away-from-home feeling for your littles.
Your family’s trust is my top priority. As I care for your little loved ones, the ease of reliability and trustworthiness from a mama of four & former law enforcement officer will provide a higher sense of security for you. Put your babies in a loving environment within my care and they’ll be set up to thrive.

Outdoor Play Emphasis
Montessori based learning
According to the founder, Maria Montessori, “Play is the work of the child.”Maria’s vision was to combine play with learning. To be able to satisfy a child’s curiosity while still allowing them to have fun is everything we should strive for. I base all my toys in care screen and battery-free aside from infant toys, allowing children to develop their imaginations and life skills.
Home-Based Comfort
Small group sizes in a licensed Colorado Shines level 2 home setting ensuring personalized attention. No more than a 1:5 Provider/Child ratio while most in-homes offer 1:8 or 1:16 ratios. The bottom level of my home is strictly dedicated to a pet-free, infant friendly through 12 years of age appropriate play, materials, and an infant sleep room to ensure the younger babies get the much needed quiet time away from distraction. Cameras in use in my home to ensure play areas and common outdoor areas are always capturing events. Your children’s images are never shared, and as a former law enforcement officer, safety talks and and a secured home during all hours are always in place eliminating the care-free dangerous situations other homes could put your children’s images in.
My background in law enforcement makes me extremely qualified in CPR/ first aid training, leadership as a Field Training Officer, and experience as a mom for the past ten years to four kids of my own with an additional 15 years of experience as a caregiver to children of all ages.
You will find the other adult in my home (My husband, Michael) in our community protecting the public, giving you the peace of mind having a public figure of trust around your kiddos during his off-hours. Michael has been a part of law enforcement for almost a decade with specialties in investigations, SWAT, and as a Field training officer. It is unique to have a provider’s spouse be an asset to the program and not leave parents wondering what kind of person is also around their kiddos.
